From Industrial Heritage to Tranquil Garden Sanctuary

Set within Munich’s Thalkirchen district, the Isartal Werkstätten—a former repair station for steam locomotives—has been thoughtfully restored and revitalized by architect Uwe Binnberg.
This historically protected complex, built from brick, now nestles in a wild yet curated garden landscape. Where engines once roared, nature now quietly reclaims space.

The open outdoor areas surrounding the building are part of its transformation. Lush greenery, unmanicured shrubs, and flowing ornamental grasses frame the architecture, inviting a sense of serenity.
Pools of atmospheric light, thoughtfully placed, accompany the night in silence. With Occhio’s Sito series, exceptional lighting design seamlessly bridges the indoors and the outdoors.

Large glass façades open generously toward the cozy terrace lounge, blurring the boundaries between inside and out.
To enhance this continuity, Sito verticale wall-mounted lights cast both upward and downward beams, delivering indirect lighting that weaves a warm, inviting ambiance into the outdoor seating area.
With a 2700K color temperature and CRI 97 light quality, the experience remains consistent—whether you're inside or outside.
