A LETTER TO LIGHT

We all carry within us a light —
a quiet thread that connects our memories to life’s most meaningful moments.
Following this thread of memory and light, we revisit what once was.
This time, we share a letter from Nili Chen, written in the gentle halo of soft light, telling her own story with light.

Dear Light,
When I think carefully, light has energy — it’s full of life, always bringing a sense of hope.

There must be a deeper, mysterious connection between light and time. The world moves with time, and the fastest form of movement is light itself — it defines the time scale of our universe.

Perfumers often draw inspiration from light, time, and space.

“Tea Light” was my imagined tribute to the Summer Palace in Beijing — with sunlight filtering through dawn mist, the scent of Pu-erh and Longjing teas drifting between fresh bergamot, creating a crisp and tranquil blend. A hint of iris adds weightless elegance — like the shadows of early summer, cool and effortless.

“Sandal Glow” is light at dawn in the desert — vast, powerful, mysterious. Pepper meets grapefruit, bursting with clean edges and spice.
Soft sandalwood and dry rose lend solitude, grounded by creamy woods. Slowly, the scent softens — lasting, smooth, deeply layered.

Light stretches across the day — from morning to dusk, it carries the scent of perseverance and gentleness. The sunset reflecting on water ripples like threads of gold and silver.
At night, the city is alight — living rooms and bedrooms glow through the grid of glass towers, magical and surreal. Neon signs flicker on lively streets, wrapped in warmth and life.

Scent is an illusion — a fleeting escape from reality. A way to find spiritual anchoring, to express self-awareness. A form of inspiration through light and time, space and sound.
