Suzanne Kasler has been designing classic homes throughout the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa for more than thirty years. Recognized for creating luminous, distinct, and timeless interiors, Kasler’s signature spaces have an effortless appeal that inspires a beautiful and authentic lifestyle.Kasler subscribes to the philosophy that interior architecture creates the envelope for the interiors, and as such, each design project is tailored to dovetail seamlessly with the architecture. At the heart of her work is a sense of place, and her versatile portfolio reflects Kasler’s innate ability to create homes that reflect both their contexts and homeowners.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE-
Kasler was born in Waco, Texas, and grew up primarily in Indianapolis. But being a child of a serviceman, upheaval was frequent.Moving every two or three years and never really thinking consciously about decorating. You often hear designers say they were constantly rearranging their rooms as children, and that’s when they knew. That wasn’t Kasler—her furniture was being moved around out of sheer necessity! But she was always making collages, and she loved magazines.A good friend in high school wanted to be an architect and talked about it all the time,That may be what propelled her, after pursuing liberal arts studies at Butler University in Indianapolis, to transfer to the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in interior architecture and design.
Kasler founded her residential interiors firm in Atlanta in 1995, and her firm has evolved to include a product design studio and a team of thirteen working on projects worldwide. With an award-winning portfolio of timeless, classic designs throughout the years as well as a dazzling array of signature lines.Kasler has established her signature look by mixing high and low, traditional and contemporary, as well as new and old. She is known for her love of French-inspired décor and continues to use her boundless creativity and discerning eye for luminous and timeless interiors.
DESIGN THINKING-
“My goal as a designer is to create a house that best expresses you, your personality, and your lifestyle. This is what I call ‘edited style.’ It is not ‘edited’ in the strictest sense of paring down, because a house is not a home without collections. The term is my shorthand for what I see as a key aspect of design: separating the favorite things, the most special things, the best things, the things that matter most from all the rest, and using them to make beautiful, livable homes that surround and embrace you with what you cherish.”
There’s something ineffably comforting about a Suzanne Kasler interior. “People feel good in my spaces, and they’re not sure why,” Kasler says. Their reaction doubtless has something to do with her decor’s grounding in 18th- and 19th-century classicism, which creates a familiar, reassuring sense of tradition. Yet, because she deploys the style with a light hand — mixing in modern pieces and leaving space around objects to achieve an uncluttered airiness — her rooms are finely finished while sidestepping overbearing formality.Kasler also creates a sense of reassuring constancy by deftly manipulating the way color progresses from room to room.
In addition to her sophisticated, carefully edited layering, one of the hallmarks of Kasler’s style is her “strategic” use of color, almost invariably against a backdrop of white, cream or other pale, neutral tone. “Any color, stands out more when it is surrounded by white.”“once we use one color, we make sure that any other colors are of the same value,” to create a feeling of harmony.Kasler also has a knack for mixing dark wood furniture and architectural accents, like glossy black doors and black-and-white floors, with white walls. “It gives dimension and depth, while maintaining a light feeling.”she says。
